Stickwork Installation at HSBF

After a very successful inaugural season, we set the bar high in 2022 by welcoming Patrick Dougherty to HSBF in June. Patrick is the award-winning, internationally known, creative artist behind Stickwork, a larger than life, interactive creation made entirely of sticks.

Over the last thirty-some years, he has built over 300 of these works, and become internationally acclaimed. His sculptures have been seen worldwide---from Scotland to Japan to Brussels, and all over the United States.

As the winner of numerous awards including the North Carolina Artist Fellowship Award, Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, and the Henry Moore Foundation Fellowship, Patrick has made a tremendous impact on the art world and created quite the following.

With a focus on cultural history, community celebration, and outdoor engagement (amongst others), we were excited to welcome Patrick and his son Sam to the property to share their passion and creativity with all who visit.
